The brand was founded in the late seventies of the twentieth century by brothers Gianni, Santo and their sister Donatella Versace. The fashion house was originally called “Gianni Versace” and Gianni’s talent as an artist, fashion designer and manager allowed the brand to occupy its niche, which soon became a special style industry – Versace. It was Gianni who bet on red carpet outfits for all kinds of ceremonies and events. Gianni allowed himself risky experiments and extremely expensive, luxurious shows.
The brand did not just sell clothes, Versace created their own scale of values for the fashion and beauty industry. It is believed that the very concept of “supermodel” created Donatella. But when Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997, the sales of this fashion house fell catastrophically. Obviously, the admirers of Gianni’s talent believed that with the departure of the founder will go and special creative content collections. Donatella Versace took over the reins of the company’s management and, having gone through a series of failures and “difficult times”, was able to preserve the style and expand the assortment of the fashion house.
